Previously comparative chronic and acute toxicity trails were conducted on the efects of the Hydrotron water treatment system on marine fish, in treated and untreated seawater at various concentrations. Test results showed that the fish (mullet) that ere in the 100% treated water grew at a rate of 60% more that for fish in the 100% untreated water. These trials were conducted over a period of one month. The trial proved that the Hydrotron treated water was in fact beneficial to the growth of the fish, while eliminated harmful bacteria and pathogens from the water. No Chronic and Acute toxicity trials have been conducted on the effects of th Hydroton water treatment system for fresh water fish.
Assumptions for the increased growth of the fish in the Hydrotron treated water are:
a. Increased oxygen levels in the treated water as a result of the oxygen being liberated at the electrodes
b. Healthier water conditions as a result of the reduction of harmful bacteria, micro-organisms and pathogens that would normally be detrimental to fish life and impact on the fish's immune system. |
